Ferdinand E. Manto

Mr. Manto comes from a big family with humble beginnings. Proof that hard work does indeed pay off, he graduated magna cum laude from the Laguna Institute in Calamba with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Commerce, major in Accounting.

Ferdie, as he is better known, is a Certified Public Accountant who spearheads Linferd & Company, Inc. A member of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), he started his career as a staff auditor for Sycip, Gorres, Velayo & Co. (SGV). He then moved to being the Vice-President for accounting and finance of Big 20 Restaurant, Inc., a hamburger company. He devised and implemented the accounting systems for Big 20.

After nine years of hard work with Big 20, Ferdie founded an accounting and bookkeeping services company in Saipan. His stint in Saipan sharpened his skills in accounting services and increased his appetite to do more in terms of improving his operational abilities.

When the family moved to the US on account of his wife being assigned to the Arthur Andersen office in Cincinnati, Ohio, he decided to take on a new challenge by applying and becoming a Swing Manager of fast-food giant, McDonald’s, in Cincinnati. This new position opened a new horizon for Ferdie, making him appreciate operations even more.

When the family moved back to the country and with his newfound voraciousness for handling operations, Ferdie moved forward and took on the role of being the Vice-President for Operations of Pizza Hut Philippines. He assisted in the implementation of the delivery system for Pizza Hut, as well as the “Pizza by the slice” concept for the fast food chain.

Wanting to do even more, Ferdie subsequently opened his own fish pen operations and steered the company as its President and General Manager for thirteen years.

Being born in the year of the Tiger in the Chinese calendar, there is no doubt Ferdie has collected numerous areas of expertise. He has industry specialization in retail, food processing and distribution, and agribusiness. He is also known to excel in finance, accounting, bookkeeping and other administrative functions. He has handled audit, as well, of companies in the retail, manufacturing, food industry, textile, garments, radio broadcasting, and agribusiness.

Ferdie, just like his animal counterpart, is intense, unpredictable, has a great sense of humor, seeks out adventure and is optimistic. He also has a lot of spunk. He never gives up and simply lives life to the fullest.

Melinda Gonzales-Manto

Melinda is the eldest of four children. Born in the year of the Dragon in the Chinese calendar, her vitality, sincerity and love of life has indeed brought her to places. Like the dragon, she is direct, loaded with high ideals she lives up to, gets things moving and accomplishes great things while motivating others.
